How Men Feel When Talking About Women's issues, graphite on paper, 41 x 56 cm, 2018

'How Men Feel When Talking About Women’s Issues' is a visual reaction to the angry and offended reactions I got after presenting ‘The Woman as a Kitchentable’ for the first time.

The title speaks for itself, even though the work itself can send rather different messages. While seeing a male in this position seems rather odd, cruel and strange, and to some even sexually arousing, seeing a woman in the position portrayed in ‘The Woman as a Kitchentable’ feels quite familiar. Maybe even normal.

'How men feel when talking about women's issues' and ‘The woman as a Kitchentable’ form a diptych, to be presented together.
